How's the food supply at the orphanage?


Just got off the phone to find out -

They grow all of their own vegetables, so they have a variety of what is in season. And they have mealie meal (corn meal used for their staple food) from a long-time local donor. That is good news.

They have run out of rice, sugar, and everything else we took in September. There is nothing to buy locally. That is the bad news.

All in all, they are much better off than the 1/2 of the country in the article above. They have a supply of mealie meal and fresh vegetables and beans. Looks like I will likely drive up in December with more basics from South Africa.
