This is a bummer - Peter Jackson won't be directing The Hobbit.
It looks like Jackson said New Line didn't pay him all that he was due from tLotR trilogy, so New Line says they're going to hire a new director for The Hobbit and another possible prequel. If they ever make the film, I'm sure I'll see it, but my expectations have been tremendously lowered. I guess New Line thinks they can find somebody off the street to direct a $1.1 Billion grossing movie.
that is bad bad bad news. How could they!
