Wikipedia

Wikipedia Celebrates 750 Years of American Independence. I suppose it's only funny if you use Wikipedia. Do you? It seems that for 1/2 of what I google, the Wikipedia page is in the top 3 hits, which is usually nice because most pages provide a decent overview and starting point for the information I'm looking for. Perhaps what is missing is a preservation of the skills involved in critical examination of multiple texts... skills I learned in school from teachers who made me write reports without using the encyclopedias as references... man, I hated that rule when I was in eighth grade... turns out they had a point.
